Join FBEC on a behind the scenes tour of the Garlock Printing & Converting facility in Reno! A manufacturer of packaging for the largest fresh produce companies in America, the plant is nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains alongside the Truckee River. Garlock is a leading developer of sustainable packaging for the fresh produce, snacks and frozen foods industry. The state of the art facility features a Plate Mounting department, Flexographic Presses, Laminators, Micro Perf Machines, Slitting Rewinders and a Quality Lab. From an environmental standpoint, the plant collects and eliminates solvent vapor generated while printing, and also recycles and reuses over 700 drums of spent liquid solvent per year that would otherwise be disposed of. Garlock also has a sustainability program and has significantly reduced their electricity use by installing LED lighting in the production and warehouse areas.
The $100 fee includes transportation for the technical tour.
